A Citizens Call to Synthesize!
a creative conversation with science on public participation in the laboratory

A Citizens Call to Synthesize! is a transatlantic discussion and exchange between The Grafting Parlour, ISEA2009 - Pre-Symposium at the University of Ulster Belfast and Dun laoighre Institute of Art Design and Technology Dublin, Dr. Natalie Kuldell's Bio Engineering Laboratory at MIT and her students, Varda Gur. Ben Shitrit and Prof. Micha Spira at the Bloomfield Science Museum Jerusalem, Israel and the DIY Bioengineering group from the Personal Genome Project at Harvard Medical School with Mackenzie Cowell, Jason Bobe and Reshma Shetty.

The Grafting Parlour web-cast discussion on citizenship and synthetic biology is the launching pad for the fusion of research by participating artists and scientists, who address ways the public can interact with science, and how a new model for an interactive laboratory fits into the history of science and knowledge.
